About Peter Banks
Peter Banks is President of the Boyd Institute, a classical-liberal think tank in Northern Virginia focused on gerontocracy, overregulation, and social fragmentation. He is the author of Strong Ideas Held Lightly, the essay series mirrored on this site.
At the Boyd Institute he has run its essay-contest series — three sprints reaching more than 30,000 subscribers and awarding over $20,000 in prizes. His writing has appeared in The American Mind, the Claremont Institute's online journal ("The Crackup of the Boomer Truth Regime," July 2026). Earlier essays were published under the Voyagers-Log masthead, including "You become what you signal" (April 2025).
He is Stanford GSB–trained (M.S., Business Research: Accounting) and served with AmeriCorps in 2016–17.
